Weekly Word discusses end of the session tax bill

The Weekly Word set out to recap what happened during the legislative session. But it turns out the bill that was passed with almost no discussion warranted more than half an hour of discussion among the podcasters.

For the second week in a row, Sterling Fluharty joined Joey Peters and myself. This time the fourth man in the four-man pod was Andy Lyman. Both Fluharty and Lyman are independent journalists who are currently freelancing.

The podcast includes a report by Lyman from the Roundhouse; he spoke to State Reps. Bill McCamley, D-Mesilla Park, and Brian Egolf, D-Santa Fe, about the controversial end to the session. The tax bill that was passed was only fully introduced an hour before the end of the session.

The podcast also examined the pieces of the omnibus tax bill — from combined reporting to corporate tax cuts and everything in between.

You can listen below or download the mp3. It is also availabe on iTunes (or will be shortly).
