Weekly Word: Santa Fe Mayor talk

Weekly WordThis week, Santa Fe mayor David Coss announced that he would not seek a third term in office next year.

The announcement touched off discussion of Coss’ legacy as mayor and who would replace the liberal mayor in 2014 when he is up for reelection.

Joey Peters of the Santa Fe Reporter was able to talk to Coss about that legacy and what he feels were the most important actions during his time in office.

Peters also was able to speak to Patti Bushee, a Santa Fe city councilor who is looking at a potential run for mayor to replace Coss.

You can see NM Telegram’s piece on the mayor saying he won’t run for reelection and two names that are considering running for mayor, including Bushee. Former Democratic Party of New Mexico Chairman Javier Gonzales is also considering a run.
